Exhibition Narrative

After his father’s passing, Linz found these etchings to be a therapeutic expression of form. Uncertainty in the midst of grief captures waves of emotion on paper, while a black-and-white medium befits the gravity and mood of loss.

Artist Statement

Liall Linz works across various themes and media, including portraiture, collage, and abstract art. His abstract etchings explore architecture and industry. A recurring ascending/descending motif runs throughout much of Liall’s work, aiming to provoke the viewer to question the true value of progress.
